Simple, ordinary days are my favorite so when my sister suggested we spend Labor Day 2020 at her house hanging out with family, eating, and taking naps I was all in! She has a lovely home and a backyard pool, too! I even managed to get in a little thrifting, so it was a perfect weekend!
I thought it would be fun to share some photos and begin with this sentiment:
We gathered up “the kids” and headed west. Maddie’s the family baker so she’s bringing the desserts!
We had hummus and carrots for lunch. “Hey look! A heart-shaped carrot!”
Eric and I grew up in the same small town where my sister and her family live. Our oldest son and daughter-in-law moved there a few years ago so our first stop was at their house. I LOVE that freshly painted green door! They’re drying the corn from their summer garden and it makes the prettiest Fall porch decor hanging on that old black door! Eric is showing off his thrifted Hawaiin print shirt.
Well hello, Dolly! She’s the sweetest little kitten!
My son’s work boots.
My sister has such a pretty house. She did a living room refresh recently and it’s so warm and cozy. My favorite is that gold tufted chair!
Don’t you love her pretty front door! That vintage art and wreath are perfect!
We love to eat!
And play cornhole!
These guys look like they’re up to something!
Cannonballs = wave pool!
Just having fun!
We did some relaxing, too!
And enjoyed every sunset.
We even rescued an old truck. This is the truc Eric drove when we started dating in 1985! So many good memories. It hasn’t run in years but he’s working on it! Hopefully, we can hit the road in it soon!
Nothing big and fancy about our weekend. Just simple food and fun times being together!
I can hardly believe September is almost over. We’re enjoying much cooler temps here in Alabama and looking forward to the Fall days ahead. A few trees in our neighborhood already show the signs of the season.
What’s your favorite thing about this time of year?
Stacy, your time with family looks wonderful. Eating, playing, and relaxing with those you love, it doesn’t get any better than this. I did notice someone is a deer hunter. Your sister’s home is lovely!
