“I’ll make her fly,” I said.
“I was made for this.”
Then I thought, “I’ll teach her to fly.”
“Five easy steps and she’ll be on her way.”
Finally, I decided, “I’ll show her how to fly.”
“Just watch me and you’ll know the way.”
But she didn’t fly.
How could she fly with no wings?
I watch her crawl for years, eyes cast down and heart low.
For years I grieve.
I watch her walk and stumble under the weight of a thousand burdens.
Years slip by with my hope that she would ever fly.
A thousand prayers lift high her name to the One who gives her wings.
“Try to make her fly and you’ll break her,” He said.
“You can teach her, but she won’t know why. Flying doesn’t make sense to one with no wings.”
“Show her how and she’ll applaud your free-flying-high; and groan with a longing to go there, too.
You must give her Me.
I Am her wings.
I AM.
With Me she can fly.
So I gave her Jesus.
Every day in every way. Some of you did, too.
And now she can fly.
Can you?
The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. He wants you bloody-kneed-crawling-around-forever. Look up! Your Savior, Jesus, has come to give you life—and wings.
So fly!
But we cling to what we know. The easy and safe walk gets us there just fine we reason. We carry a heavy load. We carry when we could be carried.
We are meant to fly.
So we dream dreams of flying and soaring high.
And seeds of faith are planted one by one.
Look up! Your Savior, Jesus, has come to give you life—and wings.
So fly!
And that girl, woman, mother, friend you know?
Give her Jesus.
He’s the Only Way she’ll ever fly.
A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of. John 10:10 (MSG)
Wow. That’s all.
