We’ve been eating lots of good food around here lately despite my lapse in posting a weekly menu. There’s been some take-out pizza and good leftovers for “on your own” suppers for those extra busy days.
You might’ve noticed I took a little trip with a friend last week. (I’ll be posting more about that this week hopefully.) While I was away, Maddie was the Queen of the Kitchen. She made her own menu, did the grocery shopping, stayed on budget, and fed our family well. What a blessing! Mamma, include your kids in the menu planning process. It’s a great way to teach them time management, budgeting, cooking, hospitality, and service. Before you know it, you’ll be harvesting the good seeds you’ve sown.
No one who cooks, cooks alone. Even at her most solitary, a cook in the kitchen is surrounded by generations of cooks past, the advice and menus of cooks present, and the wisdom of cookbook writers. Laurie Colwin
