We know betrayal. We know unfaithfulness.

We have seen it with our own eyes.

TV. Movies. Real-life.

We’ve felt it like a heavy-weight-gut-punch-gasping-for-breath-and-wanting-to-die.

We have been unfaithful.

Words. Actions. Thoughts.

How to Beat Betrayal . . .

We are tempted to bend our ear to the Accuser who would have us believe that faithfulness doesn’t exist.

Oh, but it does.

I know Faithful.

He is Jesus.

I have seen Him with my own eyes; felt Him breathe life into this collapsed lung-gasping-life of mine.

Unfatihfulness, Faithfulness, Truth, Revelation

Did you know? Have you forgotten? Is it hard to believe?

A world of betrayal and unfaithfulness can do that to a person.

Being betrayed in a relationship, in a job, in a church, or maybe even by our own body wracked with pain, disease, or old age can lead us to dump all expectations and dial back our faith. If we’re not careful we throw out hope, too. The Enemy is all too eager to sideline us in exchange for the battle ready full armor we’ve been issued.

Here’s how to beat it:

Turn your eyes upon Jesus.

Look full in His wonderful face.

And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,

In the light of His glory and grace.

That’s it. Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Every day. Over and over and over again.

He is Faithful and True.
