good news, gospel,

Have you heard the good news? The good news that a Savior has been born. He is Christ the Lord!

Have you heard about Jesus?

He’s everything, you know?

The Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace, Creator, Sustainer, Redeemer, and Friend. He’s the Healer, the Great Physician, and the Lover of your soul.

He’s God’s Son.

He’s the Savior!

Have you heard about Jesus?

Yes?

Good!

Then may I ask you one simple, life-changing question?

What are you doing with what you’ve heard?

In Mark 5:25-34 we read:

Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”

When She Heard About Jesus

This unnamed woman had suffered for twelve years. Twelve years! The Bible also tells us “and had suffered many things from physicians.”

So. Much. Suffering.

But when she heard about Jesus, well that’s the day everything changed.

When she heard about Jesus, she acted. She laid aside her list and lonely suffering and made her way to and through the noisy crowd. She’d heard about His healing, His kindness, His love, and tenderness. But she wasn’t satisfied to just hear about Him. She came to Him. She would not allow her label of “unclean” to prevent her from coming to Jesus. “If I may only touch His clothes.”

Have you heard about Jesus?

How are you suffering today? Whatever your issue, physical, emotional, financial, or relational, however big or small, He wants you to come to Him, to touch Him and be touched by Him.

What’s stopping you? Shame, sin, weariness, doubt?

Have you heard about Jesus?

He forgives sin and heals diseases. He restores relationships and binds up the broken-hearted. He can and will do more than we could ever ask or imagine.

I don’t know exactly what He will do with you or for you but I know that He is our sole remedy.

And our soul’s remedy.

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Luke 2:10
